11/16/24 UNCLE JOHN’S DIRTY RIDE EXCITING NEWS!!!
On a wonderful fall day in the fall of 2016, I was honored to win the 24-mile Uncle John’s Dirty Ride. For 6 years I was able to finish in the top 10 overall 5 times. My final race as a competitive cyclist was the 2021 Uncle John’s Dirty Ride where I was fortunate enough to win the fat bike division 24 mile race. My name is Dan Frazier.
I am honored to announce today that I will be taking over at the promoter of 2 of the oldest gravel races in the Midwest. The Uncle John’s Dirty Ride and the Melting Mann Gravel Race. Both of these races are near and dear to my heart and I promise to do my best to lead them into the future to the best of my abilities.
The 2025 Uncle John’s Dirty Ride is scheduled for September 7, 2025. Check back here for more information when it becomes available.

Uncle John’s Dirty Ride has become well known as one of the fastest gravel races in Michigan. It all begins and ends at the famous Uncle John’s Cider Mill a must visit destination for many families every fall. You will traverse through the wooded Saginaw/Gratiot Game Area as well as some super flat gravel roads lined with 10 foot high corn fields. 99% of the course is on dirt roads..
The event’s address is 8614 North US 127. St. Johns, MI, at Uncle John’s Cider Mill itself.
Riders will have three options to choose from, a 56 mile route, 26 mile route, or 15 miler.
The event is geared for riders of all ages and abilities; seasoned racers closing out their road season, mountain bikers, cross racers, weekend warriors, fitness enthusiasts or riders that simply want to enjoy the Michigan countryside on a late summer day.
Gravel bikes, road bikes, cross bikes, fat bikes, mountain bikes, tandems and single speeds are all welcome.
Bring the whole family to cheer you on. For those not riding, they can enjoy all the other activities that Uncle John’s Cider Mill has to offer while you ride. Then, after you have finished, all can enjoy the camaraderie, music, food and drink at the post-ride gathering.
